Mental Health Support at Central York High School

  • School counselors are specially trained to provide short-term mental health counseling interventions and make referrals to community resources for long-term support.
  • The Student Assistance Program (SAP) allows students who are experiencing academic, emotional, or social difficulties and/or issues with drug/alcohol use to receive a free evaluation by a professional counselor to determine the need for ongoing mental health and/or substance abuse treatment.
  •  School-based counseling is provided at CYHS by therapists employed by T.W. Ponessa & Associates Counseling Services. All counseling visits are billed directly to the student's insurance carrier.
