This summer, Central York High School AFJROTC Senior Cadets Joseph Bevivino, Sierra Taylor, and Jett Witte attended the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Flight Academy.

Cadets for the Flight Academy are selected based on physical fitness, grade point average, program participation, and a standardized set of tests. Our CYHS cadets are 3 out of 200 selected from all Air Force JROTC units in the country.  

In the Academy, these cadets completed college credits and earned their civilian private pilot license. Their training included Ground School, Initial Solo, Cross-Country Solo, a written exam, and an FAA check-ride. 

These three are the lastest in a program that has now graduated five Central Cadets as private pilots.
