Miss Jackson’s group of creative writers continues to indulge in the minds of notable authors and editors! The class had the chance to interview and hear from two fantastic individuals from the writing world in April.
Stephanie Williams, a comic book writer for Marvel and DC spoke to the class about brainstorming, content, and the writing process. Her claims to fame include the Wakanda comic, featuring Shuri, the sister of Black Panther, and many others! She answered various questions from our aspiring writers and provided priceless words of wisdom and advice.
Claire Eddy, the acquiring editor at TOR/Forge, the largest publisher of science fiction and fantasy in the world, spoke to students about the publishing end of their writing. She provided context and ideas on best practices to pitch writing to editors and reminded students to stay true to their stories.
