Information for Seniors and their Families

Parents and students are encouraged to check this page for important updates and deadlines pertaining to senior year and graduation such as cap and gown orders, student obligations, and important information regarding graduation practice and weather procedures.

Commencement exercises for the Class of 2026 will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Panther Stadium on the Central York High School Campus.

All 2026 Seniors must complete their Cap/Gown and Diploma Forms by January 9, 2026. An email was sent to all seniors, to their student email accounts, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Seniors must complete the form.

Graduation Week Schedule

CYHS Graduates walk the halls of Hayshire Elementary School

Wednesday, May 27

8:00 AM - 10:00 AM | 12th Grade Device and Debt Collection/Package Gown Distribution (students can come anytime within this time frame)

10:00 AM | Elementary Graduation Walk (Permission slip required - additional information will be sent to students and families)

Graduation Information

General Details

No tickets are required for admission to an outdoor ceremony.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be conducted in the gymnasium. Should inclement weather move the ceremony indoors, tickets will be required. Each senior will receive four (4) tickets. Those seniors not needing all of their tickets for family and friends are encouraged to share them with classmates needing additional tickets.
General seating in the stadium may not be reserved. We request that you not enter the stadium early to place markers or blankets to remove seats. Items placed to reserve seats will be removed.
Rain or shine, a live-stream of graduation will be playing in the high school auditorium for additional guests.
Lower bleachers are reserved for handicapped seating, and they are wheelchair accessible. Family of the handicapped person may sit in the row(s) above. If commencement is held in the gymnasium, a section of the gym floor will be reserved for handicapped individuals. One member of the family may sit with the handicapped person.
Both visitor and home bleachers will be available for guest seating.
No lawn chairs or other seating will be permitted on the field, gymnasium floor or the indoor or outdoor tracks. Guests must use the stadium or gymnasium seating.
Guests are not permitted on the field to take pictures during the graduation ceremony.
As a reminder for all attendees that smoking is not permitted on school grounds at any time.

Parking

Inclement Weather

In the case of inclement weather, the graduation ceremony may be delayed until storms pass or moved indoors. The District relies on forecast advice from area meteorologists and sophisticated weather applications. The District will notify families via text message and phone calls of a delay or location change by 3PM on the day of commencement.

In the event the inclement weather requires us to move indoors, tickets will be required. Each graduate will receive four (4) tickets for their friends and family.

All current graduation information will be available on the District Website. Central York Social Media Channels will also be updated with the appropriate information.
