AP World History

AP World History is an intensive course that covers the history of the world from 8000 BCE up until present day. AP World History breaks into 6 time periods:

  • Foundations- 8000 BCE- 600 BCE
  • 600 BCE- 600 CE
  • 600- 1450
  • 1450- 1750
  • 1750- 1914
  • 1900- present

As an AP World History student, you are expected to develop an in depth understanding of the course content, as well as higher order and critical thinking skills. In the developing of these skills, students will be expected to analyze, make extensive cross-cultural connections, examine continuity and change over time, and comparatively analyze history. In order to accomplish these goals, we will complete extensive analysis and interpretation of a variety of documents and sources including primary sources, maps, statistics, art and literature, and charts and graphs.

AP World will occur in the spring of 2016. Students that participated in the course this year are able to take the AP World Exam on May 14th, 2016.

Dates in April will be provided for students to meet and review information for the test. Those who signed up saying they were taking the exam will be emailed the dates. If you would like to be added to the list please see Ms. Peterson

Check back in January for more information.
