Searching for a Career


There are MANY resources you can find on the internet that are extremely helpful for exploring career opportunities.  Here are a few websites that we recommend you check out:

  • Choices 360 is a comprehensive career and academic planning website has information on everything from college and financial aid to job interviews and resumes. Central York High School students can access this website using the username and password found in the Career Center and with each school guidance counselor.
  • The Occupational Outlook Handbook is created and maintained by the U.S. Department of Labor, providing current information on job descriptions, the future of the job market, and even job search tips.  If you would like to view the OOH in Spanish, click here.
  • Not sure what career you'd like to do, but know a subject area that is interesting?  Check out the Department of Labor's What Do You Like? site or My Next Move
  • is the US Department of Education's resource for students, sharing information about colleges, technical/trade schools, financial aid, volunteering and study skills.
  • Career One Stop provides opportunities to explore careers, learn about salary, benefits, education and training, search for jobs, create resumes, prepare for interviews, and locate additional sources of assistance in this areas.
  • Explore Your Future provides guidance to students learning about careers, including videos explaining a variety of career fields.
  • Education Planner is a comprehensive website guides students as they consider careers and colleges and search for ways to pay for their post-secondary education.
