Course Expectations

Classroom Expectations:

  1. Be respectful at all times – to others, self and material

  • Be respectful to your peers, as well as to your teacher.  Build one another up, instead of cutting down others.

  • Please do not use any foul language during class. Your opinions are valued but in an appropriate fashion.

  • Keep your hands to yourself at all times.

  • If I or a classmate is speaking, please be considerate and do not talk.

  • iPads, cell phones, and other electronic devices should ONLY be used when directed.

  • Raise your hand to make a comment or to ask/answer questions.

  • Be positive!

  1. Be on time – seated when the bell rings ready to go

  • Report to class on time each day.

  • Attendance will be taken every day and follows the student handbook expectations for tardiness and absences.

  • If you are late, you must provide an appropriate pass.

  • Please give me notice if you know that you will be absent ahead of time so that I can provide you with any work you will miss.

  1. Be prepared – have all materials needed for the day

  • Enter the classroom quietly, read the daily instructions written on the board, and listen for further instructions about that day’s class.

  • Bring all necessary materials to class each day (iPad/computer, pencil, folder, etc.).

  • Be actively engaged in class discussions and group work. Your input is valued and class participation is important.

  • Work until the bell rings and you are dismissed.

  • Before you leave, make sure the classroom is clean and everything is put back where it belongs.

  1. Academic Expectations – Be Diligent

  • Use your time wisely!!!  Most assignments and activities are started and/or completed in class.

  • Come seek help if you do not understand the material in class. I am available before and after school.

  • Turn in all assignments on time when they are due.  If you need help with an assignment, please schedule a time to meet with me outside of class.  Please attempt to complete the assignment to the best of your ability.

  • Please be responsible and make up any missed work – quizzes, exams, assignments.

  • Academic integrity is valued in my classroom.  Your grade is determined by the work YOU do.  Copying from another student, dishonesty, plagiarism, cheating on a test or quiz, etc. will result in the loss of credit for the assignment, test, or course.

  1. Behavior Policy – Correcting irresponsible/inappropriate behaviors
(Level of a consequence may depend on the severity of the disruption.  Logical consequences will be implemented).

  • Verbal reminders of expectations

  • Meet with teacher after class

  • Parent/Guardian contacted

  • Office intervention
