Writing/Journalism/Theater Summer Programs

Summer Programs Related To Writing, Journalism, and Theater

Below are links to summer opportunities that exist within our community and across the country.  Central York High School does not necessarily endorse any of these programs, as we often know only as much as appears on the program website.  We list them here simply to make students and families aware of the opportunities, so that you may investigate them further.

Please note that many of these programs require a significant cost to the student, so families are encouraged to research these programs thoroughly before deciding if the program is worth your expense.

Summer opportunities are listed on this page year-round for student planning purposes, so please be aware that deadlines may have passed for involvement in these programs for the upcoming summer.

The New England Center for Investigative Reporting, based at Boston University's College of Communication, is again offering a unique Investigative Journalism Workshop for High School Students in July 2012. This program would be a perfect fit for students who are interested in journalism or writing.

The two-week program will give participants hands-on and academic training in investigative reporting and the chance to work on investigative stories that could be published in school newspapers or in major media outlets in New England. Students will spend two weeks on the BU campus participating in investigative reporting workshops led by university faculty, as well as award-winning local and national journalists.
