Art, Fashion, Design Summer Programs

Summer Programs in Art, Fashion, Design & Architecture

Below are links to summer opportunities that exist within our community and across the country.  Central York High School does not necessarily endorse any of these programs, as we often know only as much as appears on the program website.  We list them here simply to make students and families aware of the opportunities, so that you may investigate them further.

Please note that many of these programs require a significant cost to the student, so families are encouraged to research these programs thoroughly before deciding if the program is worth your expense.

Summer opportunities are listed on this page year-round for student planning purposes, so please be aware that deadlines may have passed for involvement in these programs for the upcoming summer.

Penn State Summer Art Camp

The Penn State School of Visual Arts (SoVA) sponsors a summer art camp for high school visual arts students on the Penn State's University Park campus.  The art camp offers an intensive residential studio workshop program across various art media for interested high school art students (open to students entering grades 9 through 12, and just-graduated seniors).

Campers will complete a series of workshops in drawing, photography, printmaking, and digital structures taught by experienced graduate art students and faculty artist advisers. All workshops are held in the SoVA art and computer studios. Campers will also participate in related studio activities, film nights, and social activities within the school and across campus.

Campers will leave with the necessary skills to professionally showcase their art and design through our Portfolio Building Basics workshop, including steps to building a portfolio, and how to document artwork.
