Below are links to summer opportunities that exist within our community and across the country.  Central York High School does not necessarily endorse any of these programs, as we often know only as much as appears on the program website.  We list them here simply to make students and families aware of the opportunities, so that you may investigate them further.

Pleasenote that many of these programs require a significant cost to the student, so families are encouraged to research these programs thoroughly before deciding if the program is worth your expense.


TEmple Summer Academy 

Competitive pre-college summer program for high school students entering 11th & 12th grades.

Duke Summer Session
 
Summer College – A four-week, credit-bearing program for US students currently in 10th or 11th grade and international students currently in 10th – 12th grade in which they take undergraduate-level courses
 
Summer Academy – A three-week program for students currently in 9th – 12th grade in which they take a certificate course.
 
Intensive STEM Academy – A one-week, STEM-based program for students currently in 9th – 12th grade that consists of a variety of laboratory tours, faculty lectures, and workshops.

PENN STATE SUMMER LANGUAGE INSTITUTE

The Language Institute at Penn State offers summer language programs designed for persons seeking to develop proficiency in a foreign language, including English as a second language. These programs consist of sequences of formal language courses offered for full academic credit.

The Institute's programs are of interest to Penn State undergraduate and graduate students in a range of academic and professional programs, including the liberal arts, the sciences, engineering, business administration, agriculture, communications, health and human development, and many others. The Institute welcomes students from other academic institutions, as well as military personnel, professionals, and anyone else looking to build competency in a foreign language. High school students with strong academic aspirations may enroll in the Institute as long as they are at least 15 years old.
