Elementary and High School Swim Classes

Q: What do I need to bring to swimming class?

A: Females: One piece swim suit, towel, and bag for wet items
Males: Swim shorts with a draw string, towel, and bag for wet items

Q: Will goggles be provided and/or can we bring our own?

A: Goggles will not be provided and you may bring your own but it isn't necessary to wear them.  Goggles may only cover the eyes, no goggles that cover the nose are allowed. 

Q: Do we have to take a shower prior to entering the swimming pool?

A: Yes, it is a Health code that each bather must take a shower prior to entering the swimming pool.

Q: What if I forget my swim suit and/or towel?

A: High School- You may borrow a swim suit and/or towel with your student or temporary ID.  If you do not have your ID you will not be able to borrow a suit and/or towel.  Points will be deducted from your grade if items are borrowed.  ID's will be returned after borrowed items are returned.

A: Elementary- Suits and/or towels may be borrowed during the day's lesson and must be returned before leaving the building.

 

High School Swim Classes

Q: What if I have a medical concern that will prohibit me from swimming?

A: A doctor's note must be provided prior to the class.  An out of water activity will need to be completed.  See your Swimming/PE teacher for the extent of your make-up procedure.

Q: What do I do if I have my menstrual cycle?

A: A note must be provided from a parent/guardian daily.  An out of water activity will need to be completed and the rest of the class may then be made up during Flex to receive full credit. 

Q: What if I decide to not participate in the swimming cycle?

A: Failure to participate in swimming may result in failure of the course.
