CURRENT EVENT:
Students will be required to bring to class 3 articles related to a
motor vehicle crash. The article may be from anywhere in America.
Newspapers or Internet articles are both acceptable sources. Electronic
versions of the articles may be stored on the student's device.
Students will work in groups examining these crashes and develop an effective oral presentation for the class.
Teen Drivers and Seat Belts:
Students will design an "mini" I-Movie trailer presentation in an
effort to educate peers about the use of seat belts. This will also
serve to prepare the student for the next project.
I-Movie Public Service Announcement Project:
Students will develop a public service announcement using I-Movie software. A list of potential topics will be provided. We pair with the health class as a team project.
Buying A Car Project:
Students will explore the world of buying a car. Students will
virtually trade-in a car, buy another vehicle, secure insurance,
research safety ratings and examine potential "scams" that exist during
this process. A monthly budget will be provided for this "purchase".
Web Site:
We have designed a student directed and generated web page for our
class. This includes excellent examples of the great work our students
do and provides a community resource.
Simulated DUI Field Sobriety Testing:
Students will participate in a simulated field sobriety exercise to highlight the real dangers of driving under the influence.
Google Maps Project;
Students will use Google maps as a tool to help plan trips to various destinations.
