Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2019 will be held Friday, May 31, 2019.
The ceremony will begin at 6:45 PM.


Information regarding graduation (attire, report times, ticketing, seating, etc), as well as to more information on debts and obligations, Commencement Speaker tryouts, Graduation Photos, Transcripts, and The Prom/Post Prom can be found below.

Graduation Memo - Class of 2019


Friday, May 24  - Regular full Day Schedule
    Seniors will take Final Exams during Periods 1 and 3

Tuesday, May 28 - Regular Full Day Schedule
      Seniors will take Final Exams during Periods 2 and 4

Wednesday, May 29 - 8:30 AM until Complete 
- Make up Exams
- Seniors will report to the gymnasium and sit in their assigned area.  This day will be
  dedicated to returning laptops, paying debts, distribution of caps and gowns, and
  finalizing any grade issues with your teachers.

Thursday, May 30 - 8:30 AM until 12 Noon
Commencement rehearsal in the gym. 
Assemble in the gym on the bleachers, no later than 8:30 AM

Friday, May 31 - 8:30 AM until 12 Noon
Commencement rehearsal in the gym.
 - Assemble in the gym on the bleachers, no later than 8:30 AM
 - 10:00 AM - Photo of students receiving diploma
 - 11:30 AM Senior Class Photo
    - 12:00 AM Seniors dismissed

5:45 AM until After Ceremony
   - 5:45 PM - Report to cafeteria to prepare for commencement
     - 6:30 PM - Assemble in the gym for outdoor ceremony
            Assemble in the cafeteria for indoor ceremony
    - 6:45 PM - Procession begins promptly
    - 8:15 PM or close of ceremony - Graduates report to the cafeteria to receive your
             diploma and other documents
- 8:30 PM - CLOSE


Seniors must indicate in their Parchment Account which college/university they plan to attend, in order for their final transcripts to be sent after graduation. It is your responsibility, and not that of the CYHS Guidance Office, to make sure that your final transcript has been received by the college/university that you plan to attend.  If your school's orientation program is in early June, there is a good chance that your final transcript will not be available before you attend the program and/or register for classes.  We recommend that you contact your college/university to address this issue before you attend the orientation program.

If you have taken Dual Enrollment or College in the High School classesyou must contact the college/university you attended in order to have your final grades sent to the school you plan to attend.  The CYHS Guidance Office will not do this for you.


Tryouts for commencement speaker will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, May 13th, in Room 429.  The soon to be determined class motto should serve as the central theme of the speech.

PROM 2019

Central York's Prom will be held at the Valencia Ballroom on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 6:00-11:00 PM. 

Tickets are $50.00 each
, and will be on sale in the senior cafeteria during period 3 lunches (10:42 AM - 12:38 PM) from Monday, April 29th through Thursday, May 2nd. Checks or money orders should be made payable to "CYHS - Class of 2019". 

Students must obtain a Dance Guest Agreement Form from the Main Office, and have it completed and processed if they intend to bring a guest who is not a CYHS student.  This form must be presented when purchasing tickets, and should also be brought to Prom.  No one over the Age of 20, or younger than 9th grade,  will be admitted.

Seating must be selected at the time of ticket purchase, and seats may not be reserved for individuals who have yet to purchase their tickets.  All students and guests are also expected to bring identification with them to the dance.

There will be buffet station offerings consisting of vegetable spring rolls, Caprese kabobs, fresh fruit, Buffalo chicken dip, grilled vegetables, mini burgers and cheese steaks, macaroni and cheese, and assorted desserts.  Soft drinks will also be available throughout the evening.

Dinner will be followed by hours of dancing.  The king and queen of Prom will be selected at 10:00 PM.  Email Mr. Gibson ( if you have any further questions or concerns.


This year's Post Prom theme is "Oh, The Places You'll Go". 
Post Prom will take place on May 19th, from 12:00 AM until 5:00 PM. 

All students must be checked in by 12:30 AM, and must have a signed permission form and ID, for both themselves and their guest.

All seniors are welcome, even if you don't go to to Prom!

You can pick up an information packet regarding products and prices in the Main Office. Orders can be mailed directly to Herff Jones and will be available for pick up at the school in May.


Any graduates who are planning to enter the military, who have applied for an ROTC Scholarship, or who have accepted an appointment to a military academy - please see Mrs. Hinchcliff in the Main Office as soon as possible in regards to obtaining a military cord to wear at graduation.
